The Friends of the Library

Support Your Library

The Friends of the Library is a group that raises money to enhance the programs, services and environment of the Powers Memorial Library. This organization provides support through membership, book sales and other fundraising functions.

We are looking for members to participate in organizing the book sales, working with rare and collectible book pricing and providing baked goods for sales. There are opportunities to help with library projects and for leaders to provide direction for the Friends of the Library group.

It’s Your Library

The Powers Memorial Library has a long, proud history of service to the Palmyra community. Built in 1927, the Powers Memorial Library was established as a free lending library dedicated to the intellectual, cultural and recreational needs of the community. This fine historic building has been designated a historic structure by the Palmyra Historic Preservation Commission.

It's Our Library

The Friends of the Library hope to raise money to provide programs for young and old, to beautify the library through purchases of special equipment and to strengthen the library in reaching out to new patrons. Your tax deductible support enriches the library, one of the community’s most important assets. It is only through the generous support of people like you that the library is able to reach its full potential!
